“Everything in life is about balance. You exist as a microcosm of trillions of cells, all interdependent; all of the cells of your body thrive in homeostasis.”

You feel at your best when your inner world — your body, mind and soul exist in harmony. There are 9 essential aspects that create the balance needed to be your best self. The trilogy of mind, body and soul realizes its full potential when you nurture the essential elements of each MIND: beliefs, perceptions, thoughts BODY: nourishment, rest, movement SOUL: desire. wisdom, purpose Learn to understand and support each of these and your best self will emerge.

Homeostasis is the tendency toward a stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, as maintained by physiological processes. In other words = balance.

“You feel at your best when your inner world — your body, mind and soul exist in harmony; and as you experience yourself as oneness with all of life. This happens as you first acknowledge all of the parts of you.” — dorothy ratusny

Here I share the three best practices for living in balance — mind, body and soul.

We begin with a mindfulness practice and the explanation of harmony as how you may function at your best, and as a protocol for living in a state of wholeness. Honour each of the trilogy of— mind, body, and soul — as you integrate these parts into your being and into your life.

A Mindfulness Practice of the Experience of Harmony.

Read on or take in the mindfulness practice here. It begins at: 3:03.

Listen to the Mindfulness practice of Harmony in this episode of The WISDOM podcast.

In a comfortable posture seated with your spine upright, lift the top of your head up to the sky ever so gently. Imagine that there is a gold rope or cord that is attached to the crown of your head that gently lifts the head and lengthens the spine, releasing any pressure and allowing you to feel tall, buoyant, at ease and comfortable.

This is also the best posture for remaining alert and awake and it is helpful if you notice and adjust your posture as needed as we continue. Eventually the body adapts to the new posture and stillness follows.

Close your eyes. Find the rhythm of your breath already in motion. Here you follow the breath that is already moving into and out from the body.

Harmony exists when you return to the safety and comfort of the present moment.

Here you find your place, your power, your ability to make fine adjustments; to experience your breath fully; to give it your full attention ~ to witness the sensations and the feeling of breath as it enters through the nose and as you naturally release breath with each exhalation.

Harmony is the experience of balance as it exists ongoing within you in the presence of now.

Consider this question for a moment:

How often do you become distracted by thoughts of the mind and sensations in the body and an absence of witnessing the deeper part of your nonphysical self — your soul that is always in communication with you?

In this experiential practice, witness the gentle harmony here in the inflow and outflow of breath.

Witness your breath in balance as you remain aware and attentive to each single moment for these next few minutes.

Hold steady in your mind. Witness the sensations in your body as you breathe.

Observe your breath — an ongoing experience of each present moment. In each moment and with each singular breath — settle deeper into the cradle of comfort that exists here and in the harmony of life as breath ~ as oneness ~ as life force that enters your being.

Life force is the divine. It is the eternal consciousness that you witness as the sacred blessings of harmony with your soul.” — dorothy ratusny

Each breath is one moment here in the harmony of life. Allow yourself the experience of breath as you allow it in ~ and as you feel the gentle calm begin to soothe you.

Allow for the gentle witnessing of your experience ~ one moment and the next.

Harmony is the feeling of presence that you hold in the mind, body, and soul. Harmony exists in the certain form that you call breath; that sustains your life.

Continue in silence for the next several minutes ~ in the space of each present moment.

Take a little more time here. Take in all of your experience. Expand your awareness to include what else you become attuned to.

Your attention to your breath helps you to hold presence in now and from the present moment you begin to notice more that was once not a part of your experience.

For this sacred practice of balance and the experience of harmony as the trilogy of mind, body, and soul you have the means by which you can live in the wholeness — the oneness — of what you are, and as you continue to expand your consciousness using your senses.

To live in the distinct nature of the present means that you have all of this moment and the next and the next.

Continue here for a little longer. Witness the harmony of your whole being as your true oneness with the divine — with source.

All of the moments that you witness in the pureness of now open you to reveal the softness of your soul — your inner wisdom — in communication with you.

Balance is the witnessing of what you are as more than a physical body and a mind. Balance and the harmony of this trilogy is the gentle reminder that your soul (and its infinite wisdom) is always a part of you ~it is forever you.

Next, place your attention unto your heart centre to where you may physically orient to your soul.

Ask a question here with compassion and the desire to have understanding. Let this be a question that you long to have the answer for; a question that you entrust to your soul to give you guidance.

It may be a question that requires a yes or no answer, or a question that is open ended. Ask directing the question into your heart centre and to your soul.

Allow your inner senses — your nonphysical self to respond. Let the answer in. Notice how you receive your answer ~as words spoken inside your mind and as a sense or feeling experienced in your body ~and perhaps in the area of your heart.

How do you experience the infinite nature of your soul?

You may wish to ask the same question using different words and again pause and take in what information you sense and receive — that is not of your analytical mind. Let your soul answer.

Allow yourself to receive this truth as the wisdom you hold~ and as the wisdom you always have access to — that is always a part of you.

Let’s prepare to return to the present moment. Witness your posture. As you are seated, imagine again the gold cord or rope that lengthens your spine as it gently lifts the crown of your head up towards the sky.

Then, let your eyes be open holding presence to this certain moment and the next, and the next.

This is your practice of witnessing the balance of ‘in breath’ and ‘out breath’ and joining together the mind, body, and soul as the trilogy of what you are.

In the present moment, you exist. You witness the trilogy of these parts, in balance.

Enjoy a few more moments here. Anchor the feelings of this experience in your being. This is harmony — the state of balance.

I’d like to offer you a few important tips and suggestions that will help so much as you practice this again on your own.

First, give yourself several moments to witness your breathing as you begin and as your breathing is always occurring. Think of your breath as what allows you to join all three aspects of you.

You can observe the mind for a time, noticing without attaching to thought.

You may notice the thinking of the mind that is always occurring, yet simply observe. You are watching the mind, holding presence unto your breath.

The same with your body. Observe what you notice within your body for a time.

Notice without labelling good or bad, right or wrong. Notice what enters your awareness. Observe with the idea to pay attention to the body ~to learn from it~ to include it in your awareness of self and without attaching to negative comments.

Simply observe. Feel your posture as one aspect of your body and then after a time, shift your focus again to the part of you that is eternal — the soul — your inner wisdom and your connection with the god source.

What do you observe about this nonphysical part of you? Where in the mind, the body, the soul can you feel harmony ~ that is balance?

Look inward again. Unite mind, body and soul deliberately to witness the pureness of balance.

Second, pay closer attention to feeling harmony and also the absence of harmony. You can do this by asking: Where is my balance? and What would allow me to feel harmony ~now?

Your intuitive answers drive the actions that you take to live in balance, to re-calibrate to it often and to feel in harmony.

Allow a few more moments to anchor the feeling of harmony — of balance — ‘of the inclusion of mind and body and soul’.

As an expansive state of awareness of all that you are and all that you are still on your way to be. If you haven’t already, open your eyes.

Feel the peace that comes with harmony felt throughout your being.

This is how you may walk the planet in a state of balance ~ in the peaceful offering of your heart and as you are open to love and to be love.

Harmony exists when your thoughts are of kindness and love; of peace and care ~ when your body is healthy and you have given it exercise as it exists in support of you ~ and as you live consciously as your soul wisdom and the beautiful expression of your heart open to love.

To close, here are the three best practices for living ‘in balance.’ These are meant to be experienced as a regular part of daily life. It matters not how frequently you use each one of them only that you allow these best practices to bring your awareness into the presence of where your harmony exists and where balance is possible.

1. Return often to the present moment. Exist in the space and time of now. ‘Now’ where there can never be anxiety or fear, sadness, or self-doubt, because in ‘now’ you are simply here and of this moment.

As you bring your attention into the present, focus for a time unto your breath or onto a part of your body ~ now in your full awareness. Observe the mind without judgment as you feel the beauty of your body in support of you, and as you connect with the deepest aspect of inner wisdom as your soul.

Build on the experience of presence as you unite the trilogy of mind-body-and soul into your present moment experience. Let your breath be the conduit ~the medium for this.

2. Choose an experience. Something as simple as enjoying your favourite morning beverage, exercise, or a creative pursuit or self-care ritual, and as you enjoy this activity notice how you can include the presence of the mind, the perfect level of energy felt within your body and the knowledge that you are simultaneously physical and nonphysical.

Enjoy this experience in the awareness of the trilogy of what you are.

You can expand upon this best practice as you journal your observations.

For example if you are enjoying a walk in nature, how do you include awareness of mind, body and soul?

What initiates the experience of each for you?

How does this awareness further enhance what you experience ~ as you are — and as you are ~in nature?

3. Lifestyle in balance. This best practice involves first examining the places in your life and the way in which you have been living that is out of harmony ~out of balance with what you know could be possible.

Then, ask your highest self (your inner wisdom) for the answers you seek. Let your soul wisdom speak. You can then implement the new habits, actions and the daily life practices that become your path into balance, into harmony.

For example, if you identify that you have been pushing yourself too hard without adequate breaks, enough sleep, and a balance of play and fun and relaxation; close your eyes and focus on the area of your heart centre as you ask and then receive your inner wisdom ~ your guidance — for what you need in this moment.

I usually suggest that a client focus on their heart centre. See if this feels right for you or if there is another area of the body that allows you to feel a connection with your soul and go into that place and for what you need to return to balance, to feel ‘in harmony’ and whole.

Trust in the knowledge that you receive.

Let your inner wisdom guide you to the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects that need greater attention and love.

Follow this through. Let yourself examine all places in which harmony is needed. You may choose one practice to re-instill harmony every day or at different times throughout the day as you examine what is needed and to give this to yourself~ in the presence of this moment and the next.

The practice of harmony is living in balance — your mind, body, and soul as one. I hope that this resonates for you a deeply profound experience to practice and to live now and for the rest of your life.

To be in balance is to feel empowered, liberated, and free.
